Position Summary |
The
Department of Internal Medicine - Administration is seeking to hire an Admin
Assistant 2. This opportunity is for an
organized, detail oriented individual who can work effectively and
independently in a multi-task environment.
Our team consists of an extremely large and diverse group of staff who
are highly energetic and dedicated to the success of our department. This position requires an individual who
possesses superb communication skills, reliability, and the ability to handle a
high level of interaction amongst several entities, both internal and external
to the University. The successful
candidate will serve as the main point of contact for the department and will
be responsible for relaying and resolving routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries,
coordinating meetings, performing data entry, and establishing and maintaining
records. The position will also manage
the front desk operations to include mail distribution/mailbox maintenance, Master
Directory data entry and maintenance, as well as managing staff badges and
package deliveries. Additional duties
and responsibilities include supervising student employees, lead for
departmental event planning and special projects as assigned.

Conditions of Employment |
- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience
supervising student employees
- Superb
communication skills and the ability to handle high level of interaction
amongst several entities, both internal and external to the University.
- Experience
with various computer programs
- Experience
working in a diverse work environment
- Previous
experience working as a receptionist, or similar administrative setting
- Ability
to multi-task, prioritize duties and delegate appropriately
