The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is inviting applications for a full time 9-month position (plus a summer contract) at a rank of Lecturer II to begin no later than March 15, 2024. Specifically, the department seeks a licensed and certified speech language pathologist to serve as a Clinical Instructor and Clinical Director. Graduate teaching is a possibility, depending on the Lecturer's areas of specialty and department need. Note: Candidates must be eligible for credentialing, and a background check is required.

In addition, the successful candidate will oversee daily clinical operations, coordinate graduate student clinical assignments, oversee insurance compliance, supervise graduate speech-language pathology students, monitor student clock hours and provide feedback to graduate students, perform direct client care as appropriate, and perform service duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include:

(1) a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology

(2) eligible for or current possession of a New Mexico state license in speech-language pathology

(3) a minimum of 3 years post-graduate (master's degree in speech language pathology) experience as a clinical speech-language pathologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

(1) Experience with a variety of clinical disorders, especially adult populations

(2) Experience in clinical supervision with graduate students or CFY,

(3) Experience with leadership or clinical administration,

(4) Experience with PowerChart (Cerner) and/or insurance billing,

(5) University teaching experience,

(6) Experience working with culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations, and

(7) Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success.
