The UNM Medical Group, Inc. Ambulatory Surgical Center is seeking an Dental Provider. This opportunity is a part-time to full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are open to a schedule of 2-5 days a week. The ASC is an AAAHC Accredited site which adheres to the highest standard of patient care and quality. This position will require gaining knowledge of regulatory standards in an OR setting and supporting these standards with providers and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Dental Provider:

• Performing comprehensive dental treatment on adults and children in a traditional outpatient clinic and in operating rooms
• Performing Surgical and Third Molar Extractions on the level of general dentistry.
• Working in dental clinic and/or OR setting
• Working with and supervising dental residents
• Providing direct clinical care
• Maintaining documentation of all procedures and practices in an electronic medical record

Minimum Job Requirements of a Dental Provider: *

• General Dentist with ability to provide faculty practice general dentistry

• DMD or DDS with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

*Operating room or surgical experience is preferred*

Preferred Qualifications of a Dental Provider:

• Experience working with dental residents
• Experience in the practice of the full scope general dentistry including surgical procedures
• Experience in special needs practice or the willingness to learn special needs dentistry with adaptations such as papoose boards
• Demonstrated skills for implants
• Demonstrated skills for impacted and surgical extractions at the higher level of general dentists
• Hospital dentistry
• Any general dentistry residency program completion
