Position Summary | The School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering
anticipates hiring Adjunct (Temporary, Part time) Faculty to teach and/or
develop program courses in Mechanical Engineering for the Summer 2024, Fall
2024, and Spring 2025 semesters.
Anticipated openings, potentially include the following subjects:
Dynamics, Vibrations, Control Systems, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Finite
Element Analysis, Engineering Materials Science, Fluid Mechanics, Machine
Components, Aerospace Systems, and Engineering Design.
Mechanical Engineering is seeking qualified temporary part time
faculty members to teach in the various disciplines as specified above.
Instructors are responsible for all aspects of courses taught to include:
meeting with class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment
development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of
student learning as outlined by the Department Chair.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined
by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand
driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each
semester up to deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who
are selected for these positions will report to Department Chair, Dr. Yu-Lin
Shen.
Wages Adjunct Faculty in Mechanical Engineering are currently compensated $6,015.86
per 3 credit hour course.

Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications must be consistent with Higher Learning Commission standards and compliant with the faculty hiring guidelines. - MS in Mechanical Engineering or
closely related field
Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas listed in the
position summary
- Online teaching experience
