Clariant is seeking a Quality Control Technician for its Belen, New Mexico location. The Quality Control Technician is accountable for conformity of finished product to specifications for Cargo and Device Protection (CDP) Production. This position will primarily consist of daily product testing from production and research and development (R&D).

Clariant Cargo & Device Protection, a business group of Clariant's Adsorbent & Additives Business Unit, offers a complete portfolio of desiccant, oxygen absorber, and humidity indicator solutions to help protect goods from moisture and oxygen through the entire supply chain. Worldwide manufacturing sites include: Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, United States, and China. This position has a pay range of $20.20 - 21.82 per hour.


Responsibilities

  • Perform real-time inspections of finished goods/intermediates and ensure quality specifications are being met.
  • Perform quality inspections using various calibrated measuring tools (hand tools, gages, weights, and scales)
  • Perform various SAP quality transactions including Batch Release, Blocking/Unblocking, Finished material release
  • Issue Non-conformance reports for material out of specifications, incorrect documentation, and processes not followed.
  • Collect and sample incoming bulk materials as per ANSI standards for testing using Thermatron testers.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis and Compliance for the release of finished good material prior to shipment
  • Maintain materials in blocked/Quality inspection status in SAP
  • Maintain inventory tracking logs for Southwest Creations Collab
  • Process recalls of finished goods from the ABQ warehouse
  • Maintain various reports including Daily reports, Batch files, validation testing, capacities, NCR database
  • Assist in performing Repacking/Labelling of finished goods
  • Maintain Non-Conforming area
  • Prepare inspection plans and instructions
  • Assist in investigations and close customer complaints
  • Assist in ensuring all measurement tooling is maintained and calibrated
  • Document Control - Create and update GMS documents including SOP and Work Instructions
  • Quality training of production operators
  • Support other operations functions per business needs

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be fluent in English and have moderate mathematics skills
  • 1+ years prior quality experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • SAP preferred
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Ablilityto work in a fast-paced environment
  • Need to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software is crucial
  • The role may require working flexible hours, which could include weekends
  • Safety is paramount in any industrial environment
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial for operational efficiency
  • This requirement involves having a good grasp of basic mathematical concepts
