The Center for Healthcare Equity in Kidney Disease (CHEK-D)
Research Scientist will provide a wide range of research tasks under multiple health
disparities projects in patients with kidney disease. This position will be
responsible for related research activities and steady involvement in routine
meetings and summary reports. Due to the nature of the project goals, the ideal
candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively in English and
Spanish, both orally and in writing. The Research Scientist will work closely
with the Director and research team, including other external collaborators, to
contribute to the maintenance, oversight and success of the Center's research
projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
Performs scientific research tasks related to the initiation and ongoing efforts requiring application of the IRB approved protocol and procedures; recruits, instructs, and coordinates research subjects and/or volunteers, as appropriate to specific study objectives and workscope.
Assists in all aspects of study design, implementation, and administration, ensuring compliance with HRRC (IRB) requirements, Federal/State regulations, and grant and/or contract parameters.
Plans and organizes the daily operations of the research project.
Develops and/or adapts, implements and evaluates specific research and data collection methodologies and techniques, as appropriate.
Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.
Creates and maintains currency of knowledge with respect to manual of procedures relevant to the project.
Collects and/or oversees data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
TERM APPOINTMENT; FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH 01/31/25; CONTINUANCE BEYOND THAT DATE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING.

Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
