Summary

Plans, coordinates and actively manages the IT delivery outcomes for the Company's multi-year cyber transformation program consisting of 25+ projects for cybersecurity efforts. Manages the end-to-end plan that includes all changes needed to support cyber maturity outcomes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for driving specific aspects of the cyber transformation program comprising of 25+ projects with high complexity.

  • Apply technical expertise and experience related to cybersecurity to proactively identify problems, propose solutions to technical constraints, escalate problems, and anticipate bottlenecks in the development cycle.

  • Works with business area, analysts and engineers to understand technical requirements.

  • Accountable for defining and managing scope, schedule, cost and quality, including the monitoring of day-to-day progress, execution, management and closure within the approved scope, schedule and cost.

  • Makes connections across teams to drive identification and managing of inter-dependencies.

  • Responsible for reporting status, achievements and results in a timely manner and in accordance with PMO best practices.

  • Accountable for defining the program structure and creating a single, unified plan to deliver the program objectives.

  • Drives for clarity on objectives, priorities and measures.

  • Accountable to manage program/project risk through the development, maintenance and revision of reports and tracking tools. Using approved methodologies uses all available tools to identify potential problems before they occur. Remove impediments and raise when applicable. Is proficient in risk management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum 4 - 6+ years of professional experience.

  • Fouror more years of project management experience in technology (cybersecurity).

  • Experience with project management methodologies or SDLC (systems development life cycle).

  • Working knowledge of project management (Jira, Jira Align).

  • Understands how software is developed, tested and implemented as well as technical concepts.

  • Ability to work closely with engineers, product managers and business leaders.

  • Experience managing large scale, cross-functional initiatives using a variety of delivery methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, lean, scrum, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to dig into details, learn, ask questions and become the "go to expert" on certain concepts and topics.

  • Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership.

  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.

  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general department policies and industry guidelines.

  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$90,930.00

Pay Range - End:

$168,870.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
