Assessment & Learning produces complex performance examinations for medical students. The Training Specialist contributes to this mission by training Standardized Patients (individuals from the community) to portray clinical cases for medical students to demonstrate patient communication and physical examination skills. In addition to possessing excellent training skills, the successful candidate must be able to plan, schedule, recruit, interview, develop training materials, and evaluate outcomes. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to adapt to the unexpected and to collaborate effectively with other Assessment & Learning team members. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications * Working in a healthcare/clinical environment
* Working in a deadline-oriented job
* Managing multiple projects on a daily basis
* Teaching or training adults in a professional setting
* Working as a standardized/simulated patient
* Training standardized/simulated patients
* Developing training materials or training plans

Proficient with:

* Microsoft Word
* Microsoft Excel
* Microsoft PowerPoint
* Microsoft Access or experience with relational databases including data entry, building queries and reports
* Web searches
* Online training development Additional Requirements Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. may need to work earlier or later work hours during student assessments, depending on department needs.
