Requisition ID req29101 Working Title Community-Based Resrch Splst Position Grade 11 Position Summary The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.

The Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH), within the broader Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address behavioral health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.

CBH is seeking an on-call Community-Based Research Specialist to serve on two projects designed to improve community-based mental health services and treatment across New Mexico in culturally relevant ways. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting with project implementation, consenting, screening and assessment; data collection, data entry and quality assurance; assisting with database creation and maintenance; conducting fidelity assessments; regulatory and other compliance reporting requirements as needed. This position may also facilitate and coordinate trainings, and participate in grant writing and publication development. The qualified candidate should be comfortable working in a variety of settings (conducting interviews in clinics, public buildings, telehealth, etc.). This position requires excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately with data across various programs.

This position requires a commitment to helping other sand a high level of compassion, empathy and self-awareness; a knowledge of behavioral health issues and resources available to communities; a collaborative nature to work with a multidisciplinary team; resourcefulness, responsiveness and flexibility; and superb organizational and communication/ relationship building skills.

This is an on-call position based in Albuquerque, NM. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position will require limited travel within New Mexico.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in behavioral or public health preferred
  • Extensive experience with behavioral health services research and evaluation
  • Experience conducting interviews with individuals with serious mental illness, homelessness and substance abuse
  • Experience with data reporting, dissemination and presentation- including reporting on barriers to care
  • Experience working with Human Research Review Boards
