Job Description

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Development Operations Manager to support our government customer located in Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.

The NTC consists of three training facilities: the Main Campus, the Live Fire Range (LFR), and the Integrated Safety and Security Training and Evaluation Complex (ISSTEC). These facilities provide training classrooms, armories, weapons live fire ranges, and simulated facilities for instructor-led classes, blended learning, and performance-based learning. The Dev Ops Manager's responsibilities and duties are as follows:

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the implementation, deployment, and integration of code, ensuring successful delivery, high quality, and sustainability of solutions.
  • Manages Development and Operations personnel, assigning and monitoring work and ensuring quality and efficiency is maintained.
  • Ensures application development and deployment is executed using industry standard practices and implements quality control and review systems throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Displays technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions.
  • Manages the Operational aspect of production and development IT infrastructure including directing development of, training in, and validating compliance with procedures and checklists related to disk space usage, deployments, code modifications, cybersecurity, and more.
  • Coordinates with the Cybersecurity and IT Services teams to implement IT and Cybersecurity best practices and standards..
  • Evaluates, plans, and executes budgets to maintain existing IT infrastructure and plans future technological evolutions. Interfaces with vendors to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues and develop plans for enhancements, developments, and operational improvements.
  • Evaluates IT infrastructure to identify technical and process improvement opportunities and ensures all hardware and services provide value toward organizational goals.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of developers, product owners, and subject matter experts.
  • Exercises broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing both routine and complex elements of technical operations.
  • Possesses technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools, and deployment processes and tools.
  • Possesses technical understanding of web application programming, content management systems, APIs, databases, and systems design.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience using DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, Jira, Bamboo, Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least ten (10) years of relevant IT or management experience.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience management and implementation of Cloud-based data management.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
  • Experience with project management workflows and processes.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

Ability to obtain and maintain "Q" (Top Secret) access authorization
