Position Summary |
The UNM-Valencia
campus is seeking an Admin Assistant 2 or Admin Assistant 3, depending upon education, experience and qualifications. The selected
candidate will serve as assistant to the Workforce Training Center (WTC) which
is an extension of the University located off I-25 in Los Lunas, NM. Principal
duties and responsibilities of the Admin Assistant 2 or Admin Assistant 3 are as follows: - Coordinating and performing a
range of operational support activities for the unit
- Answering telephones, assisting
visitors/students/clients and resolving and/or referring a range of
administrative problems and inquiries
- Operating a personal computer to
compose and edit correspondence and a range of administrative documents
- Scheduling and coordinating
meetings, events, appointments and/or other similar activities, including
coordinating travel and lodging for staff
- Posting, balancing, and
monitoring department monthly ledgers, and budgets
- Maintaining and updating files,
database, records and/or other documents
- Assisting with basic IT issues
(set up of equipment)
- Some evening and
weekend work may be required to fulfill job duties

Conditions of Employment |
- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |

Preferred Qualifications: - English/Spanish Bilingual
- Associate degree
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated experience managing small projects and/or departments
- Demonstrated experience with customer service
- Demonstrated experience creating paper and digital flyers/signage
