The University Libraries IT Services Team has an exciting Programmer Analyst 1 or Programmer Analyst 2 position available. We are looking for an enthusiastic programmer who can maintain our existing websites, and also develop web applications that support the libraries' student services and promote online access to our special collections. The position will be responsible for intensive web development, triage and troubleshooting, routine operational activities, and other developer and end-user support responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have excellent development and project management skills, a strong work ethic, the ability to balance multiple projects and operational requests at the same time, and the ability to learn new tools and technologies. Must be flexible, positive, and possess good collaboration and teamwork skills.

Applicants will be considered for both the Programmer Analyst 1 and Programmer Analyst 2. Determination of level placement for the successful candidate will be based on the years of related experience and relevant information obtained throughout the recruitment process.

Salary Range for Programmer Analyst 1: Monthly: $3,589.73 - $5,040.53

Salary Range for Programmer Analyst 2: Monthly: $3,944.47 - $5,555.33

(Salary range is estimated and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or related discipline.
  2. Solid web development capabilities including PHP (OOP and MVC Principles), RUBY/RUST/JAVA, JavaScript (JQuery, Node.js), AJAX, REST, HTML, CSS, XML/XSLT.
  3. Experience with relational database systems, such as MySQL, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.Competent using Linux. Comfortable with SSH, SFTP, the command line, and package managers. Linux admin capabilities are a huge plus.
  4. Experience with open source and/or enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Hannon Hill Cascade CMS and Drupal.
  5. Ability to work in a team and grow from constructive feedback.
  6. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to accurately convert client requirements and specifications into working code.
  8. GitHub profile (or portfolio link).
  9. Demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse population of students, employees, & community members.
