The miller Operator safely operates machinery used to break up and remove existing asphalt and prepares roadways and related surfaces for new asphalt. Oversees the functioning of the milling equipment. This is a hightly skilled role.

Safely and skillfully operates a milling machine follwing all standard equipment operating procedures.
• Maintains eqipment in proper operating condition by performing simple prvetinve mintenace and repairs such as fulid checks, replaing minor parts and lubricating equipment.
• Responsible for daily checks of the milling drum, conveyors and water suply systems.
• Maintins constant visual contct with co-workers on foot and trucks in front of the machine.
• May perform general Asphalt labor duties

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
• Be willing to work holidays and weekends, and overtime as needed
• Must have the bility to read printed materials, signs and directions.
• Great attention to detail and stress tolerance
