Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Office of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing patient care, providing quality assurance, maintaining infection control, administering regulatory compliance and preserving fiscal stability. The Office of Clinical Operations is an integral part of the School and their primary mission is to provide the highest quality education and training to students and to provide the highest quality dental treatment available for patients.
Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Dental Storeroom Technician position is to work closely with the Dental Storeroom Coordinator to deliver, procure, and manage a storeroom of dental materials for the Adams School of Dentistry. This position will assist with the purchasing of materials, maintenance of inventory supplies, and the delivery of supplies to the multiple clinics in ASOD. This position will assist with the processing of payments and in the reconciliation of all financial transactions generated during the purchasing process. While utilizing data from an electronic inventory management system, the Dental Storeroom Technician will help coordinate other employees/work-study students who help to unload delivery trucks and move inventory within the Storeroom area. The Dental Storeroom Technician will monitor purchasing records and reconciling documentation. This position will provide excellent customer service to School of Dentistry customers, delivery people, and external vendors.

High school diploma or equivalency.

Retail customer service and inventory management experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Physical Effort: Lifting of material up to 50lbs is routine. Extended periods of standing and reaching. Maneuvering inventory carts weighing up to 200 pounds is routine.

Visual Attention, Mental Concentration, and Manipulative Skills: Critical when ordering materials (catalog number, unit price, total amount, shipping address, delivery dates, etc.). Critical when preparing items for sterilization, sterilizing materials, and distributing items for patient care.

Safety for others: Issued materials must be examined and determined to be in a safe and operational condition for patient safety and staff safety for infection control. The work environment must adhere to all EOE and OSHA policies and procedures specific to the different areas to ensure the safety of staff. Adherence to HIPM is crucial in order to avoid costly and lengthy litigation.
